4th of July Holiday

June 9, 2009 There have been questions about the observance of the July 4th holiday.  Article 7(c) states that if the holiday falls on your day off, your next workday will be observed as the holiday providing that you are on a 5/8′s schedule.  In this case the July 4th holiday will fall on Monday the 6th. If you are on a 4/10′s schedule the observance of the holiday will not move or change, but will be observed on July the 4th; this verbiage is found in Article 7 (c) (1). If you are on Midnights the observance of the July 4th holiday will fall on Sunday July the 5th. Fraternally yours, Mike McDonald, Vice President
