Brothers and Sisters, As a result of several incidents regarding our business relationship, including the perception that there is a need to redefine the collaborative efforts of Local 514 and American Airlines, the Executive Board elected to assess our current participation in this process. The assessment illustrated that while a number of efforts work well on behalf of our membership, there are other roles and efforts that require redefining. Our goal is to ensure that all efforts work to provide job security, ability for members to be involved in the decision making process, for when the business succeeds so do our members. Accordingly, we will continue those efforts that support our membership and our goals. As we define involvement in the collaborated efforts, we will assess the level of involvement from top to bottom. Until then, we are suspending all ALT & JLT meeting participation.
