On September 3, 2010, American Airlines gave out 250 letters of Reduction in Force to Union members across four cities in Title Groups I, II and V. The cities affected are: Kansas City, San Francisco, Detroit and Minneapolis-St Paul.
Although Local 514 doesn’t expect any of our members to be affected by this RIF, Tulsa is on the Junior Station list for Aircraft Cleaner and Parts Washer in Title I and Facility Maintenance Mechanic, PMM and Building Cleaner in Title II. Tulsa currently shows that it has about 60 Title I vacancies, 26 Title II vacancies and 8 Title V vacancies. Therefore, we can expect to see some new faces join our Local in the coming weeks. This is the first round of layoff and is expected to be completed by September 24, 2010. If a second round occurs, we will put out more information at that time.
