2011 Veterans Day Parade

WOW what a great turnout!

We had a great turnout from Local 514 in support of our troops on Veterans Day. The Parade is the fourth largest Vetern’s Day Parade in the country and Local 514 members were there in force. Many members, riding on and off the float, handed out candy and flags to the crowd.

We also had the American Veterans’ Motorcycle Club and many Local 514 members on motorcycles following behind the float to show support. Transport Workers Union Veteran’s Committee decorated the float with the theme, “Let Freedom Ring,” with ringing bells and flags. Curtis Lyons and Tony Bunch, chairmans of our Local 514 Veterans Committee, did a great job for the Parade this year. Special thanks to Bobby Duck and Dan Adams, Painters, Joe Harp and Denny Howard, Carpenters at Facilities for their work on the Veteran’s Day float.

Thank you to all who serve our country in the Armed forces and their families.
