Following the TWU’s release of the “unofficial” results from the Mechanic and Related, Stores and Technical Specialist vote on the recent tentative agreement, the American Arbitration Association conducted a thorough review of the data. This was part of their customary procedure; the AAA performed an extensive review of
the spreadsheets and tally sheets prior to issuing an official certification of results.
During that review, they discovered a discrepancy and made an adjustment to the results for official certification. The adjustments did change vote totals; it did not affect the outcome of the referendum
and are accurate. Below is a summary of the changes from what was initially reported:
There were approximately an additional 300 No votes in both Stock Trade and Mechanic & Related Trade
There were approximately an additional 60 Yes votes in the Stock Trade and 100 in M&R.
There were approximately an additional 5 No votes in the Technical Specialist Trade.
The new adjusted vote totals are certified and are as follows:

3472 voted in favor of the Tentative Agreement
6344 voted to reject the Tentative Agreement
The Mechanic and Related membership has spoken through the democratic process of casting their vote and have officially rejected the May 5, 2010 tentative agreement.
Stores Tentative Agreement Vote Results
The vote results were as follows:
398 voted in favor of the Tentative Agreement
616 voted to reject the Tentative Agreement
The Stores membership has spoken through the democratic process of casting their vote and has officially rejected the May 5, 2010 tentative agreement.
Technical Specialists Tentative Agreement Vote Results
The vote results were as follows:
60 voted in favor of the Tentative Agreement
23 voted to reject the Tentative Agreement
The Technical Specialists membership has spoken through the democratic process of casting their vote and has officially accepted the May 5, 2010 tentative agreement.
