Association Bulletin – Week of December 5 – 9

Sisters and Brothers,
The Association Mechanic & Related/Stores Negotiating Committee met with American Airlines the week of December 5th in Washington DC. During this week’s session, the Committee exchanged and discussed the following articles:

Hours of Service – M&R, MLS & MCT – We have reached an agreement in principle on this article. We still need to incorporate the accreted groups into sections of this article, where applicable, before we reach a tentative agreement in its entirety.

Limited Duty– M&R, MLS, MTS and MCT –We presented a counter proposal on this article to the company during this session.

Overtime – M&R, MLS and MCT – We did not exchange or discuss this Article in this session. We remain steadfast in our positions on NO mandatory overtime, limiting job continuation and pay for overtime bypass.

Vacation – M&R, MLS & MCT – We are waiting for the company to respond to our proposal.

Holidays – M&R, MLS, MTS and MCT – We did not receive a proposal from
the company this week.

M&R= Mechanic & Related
MLS= Material Logistics Specialists (Stores)
MTS= Maintenance Training Specialists
MCT= Maintenance Control Technicians

The company presented your committee a briefing on the process for the True Up payment provided in the Interim Letter of Agreement.We have established subcommittees for the accreted groups, (Quality Assurance, Planners and Technical Documentation Specialists). Those sub committees, as well as the MTS subcommittee, will advise the Negotiating Committee on issues specific to those groups during the session in PHX the week of January 9, 2017.
