It is with a sad heart that we share with you the passing of retired Brother Charles McMillan on January 29, 2021.

Charles (Gene) McMillan was born March 7, 1934 to Lester Eugene and Hallie Marie (Newman) McMillan in Vinita, Oklahoma in Craig County. He attended school in Hallett, Oklahoma where he met his sweetheart and future wife, Virginia Maxine (Willcox) McMillan, whom he married in December 22, 1953 when he was home from the U.S. Army on Christmas leave.
Charles began his career at American Airlines as a mechanic and eventually became an airplane inspector. He worked there for 25 years before retiring.
He and his wife loved to spend their time traveling and seeing the world. Charles loved fishing and camping with his family. He was a devoted man of God with a strong, enduring faith and trust in the Lord. He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. Charles was a man of great talent; he could repair or build anything from a house to an airplane engine.
A loving husband, father, and child of God, Charles will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Charles passed away Friday January 29, 2021 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was 86.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Hallie and Lester McMillan, sisters, Rosemary Kelso & Mavontine Bransletter and her husband, Kenneth, wife, Virginia McMillan, and son, Steve McMillan.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Sheri Cobern and husband, Tim of Canton, Texas, daughter-in-law, Sharon McMillan of Claremore, Oklahoma, grandchildren Mac McMillan and wife, Tara of Verdigris, Oklahoma, Kelsey Willhite and husband, Jeff of Claremore, Oklahoma, Matt Cobern and wife, Jennifer of Tyler, Texas, Michelle Allen and husband, Kyle of Canton, Texas, Brandy Shahan and husband Jake of Royce City, Texas, Casie Avila and husband Dominic of Canton, Texas, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Charles left a lasting legacy and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
