
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Edward Jenkins Jr., a dedicated and longtime member of the American Airlines Local 514 family. James, who was 92 years old, passed away on July 24th, 2025, in Broken Arrow, OK.
James began his career with American Airlines in 1967 and spent over three decades serving our organization with distinction. He retired in 1998 as a Tech Crew Chief in Aircraft Overhaul, capping off an illustrious career marked by hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.
Throughout his 31 years of service, James was a valued colleague and friend to many, earning the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside him. One of the highlights of his career was being recognized as a recipient of the prestigious Golden Wrench award, a testament to his exceptional technical expertise and outstanding contributions to our maintenance operations.
We extend our sincerest condolences to James’ family and loved ones during this difficult time. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories we shared with him during his time at American Airlines. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his dedication to our organization will never be forgotten.
