It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Retired Brother John Paul Blue, a dedicated and respected member of our American Airlines family. Brother Blue passed away on September 30, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on April 26, 1944, John began his career with American Airlines in 1973 as an Aviation Maintenance Technician, bringing his skills and expertise to our team. Over the years, he demonstrated his commitment to excellence and dedication to our company, earning a promotion to Inspector in 1996. He continued to serve in this role until his well-deserved retirement in 2003.
During his 30-year career with American Airlines, Brother Blue was an integral part of our maintenance team, ensuring the safety and reliability of our aircraft. His knowledge, experience, and passion for his work earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
We extend our condolences to Brother Blue’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. May they find comfort in the memories of his life, his accomplishments, and the impact he had on those around him.

John Paul Blue, 81, went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2025, in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was born April 26, 1944, in Gracemont, Oklahoma.
Paul proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He retired after 35 years as a mechanic/inspector with American Airlines. He and his wife Mary were deeply involved in their church community, where their faith was lived out in service and fellowship. A man who loved life, Paul found joy traveling with Mary, spending time at the lake, playing card games and bowling. Along with his faith, Paul cherished his family, who meant everything to him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Paul, his parents Ernest and Adella (Miller) Blue and his sister Shirley White.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Blue; his sister, Janell Sweeney Lester and husband, Floyd of Shawnee, Oklahoma; his children, Theresa Hull & husband, Daren, of Franklinton, North Carolina; Mark Blue & wife, Kristi, of Bixby, Oklahoma and Pam Hyder and husband, Barry, of Bella Vista, Arkansas: Grandchildren, Taryn Prisco & husband, Billy, Danielle Montgomery and husband, Ryan, Hannah DeRemer and husband, James, Hailey Miller & husband, Matt, Allie Blue, Hayden Smith, Nathan Blue and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral Service for Mr. John Paul Blue will be 1:00PM Friday, October 3, 2025 in the Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st St., Tulsa, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
