The new Accept/Decline window for both Title I and V will now be this Thursday November 15, 2012 at 10:00 am and will close on Friday November 16, 2012 at 10:00 am (they have 24 hours to either accept or decline their award-via the online tool on jet net. Remember if he does not respond within the 24 hour period the employee he will be considered to have accepted the award).

If a member accepts a job in which they aren’t qualified in – that per the contract they have 10 work days to qualify and they need to contact the training department at their station to schedule the appropriate test. The training departments will also be notified of who needs to test – so they are aware of the volume of employees who will need tests.

If the member fails to pass the appropriate skills test for which he expressed a desire to exercise his seniority, he may exercise his seniority in a lower classification at his station provided he notifies his Manager / Supervisor of his intention to exercise his seniority within twenty-four (24) hours after receipt of notice of his failure to qualify they must notify their Manager/Supervisor within 24 hours (with the caveat – his seniority would hold the lower classification position).
