AMR Bankruptcy Update for June 27, 2012

This afternoon the Allied Pilots Association announced they will send out AA’s “Last Best and Final” offer to their membership. As a result of this development, the Star-Telegram is reporting that judge Sean Lane will delay his ruling on American’s request to reject its labor agreements until August 8, pending the APA’s vote. This has not been confirmed by TWU representatives.

TWU Negotiators representing the 5 ratified agreements continued their work at FSU today. The negotiators are finalizing language on the “me too” specifics for each group. Additionally, TWU has reached out to the company to obtain firm dates for the Mechanic and Related and Stores groups. Once those dates are finalized the Negotiations teams will be notified.

We know members are anxious to hear the latest bankruptcy news. We do not control the judge’s schedule, or that of the other two unions. We will keep you apprised of these fast moving, unpredictable delays and extended negotiations as soon as they become available.
