Ready When the Time Comes volunteers are trained in Red Cross disaster services and will be ready to volunteer during a large-scale local disaster.
Training includes basic disaster response, Red Cross principles and procedures, and CPR. Local 514 will sponsor a 4-hour course, which will be taught by certified Red Cross instructors.
Recent events such as the 2008 Picher tornadoes and the 2009 ice storm have shown us how important it is to be prepared and trained before a disaster hits.
