Bankruptcy Update – June 22, 2012

Yesterday Judge Sean Lane indicated he was postponing his ruling for at least a week pending the APA’s decision on whether to submit the Company’s Last Best Offer to its membership.
To date we have not received any requests from the Company to meet with either Maintenance and Related or Stores. When we did reach out they stated they were still in discussions with the APA and they would contact us.
Currently, the Company’s focus is getting an agreement with the APA regarding the improved terms it has offered the pilots. The Company did lower the cost of the pilots proposal by 3%. This is a $55 million improvement in the pilots favor. The TWU will expect the same 3% improvement for all of our members including those groups that do not yet have an agreement.
The Fleet Service Committee and I will meet with American Airlines to discuss how to incorporate the “Me Too” clause and add 3% to the Fleet Service contract Monday through Thursday of next week.
