This week the negotiations committee has been in DFW working on the language verification process. Next week the negotiations committee will continue this process. Local 591, 567 and 514 Executive Boards will be meeting after the language process has been completed so they can review the new language with the committee.

The regular membership meeting scheduled for February 24th and 25th 2020 will be postponed. This is due to the Executive Board meeting in DFW to go over the Agreement in Principle. We will have our February membership meeting on March 2nd, 2020 there will be a 7:15 am, 11:45 am and 3:45 pm meeting. Please make arrangements to attend.

No date has been set for a contract vote.

401k Special Election for Profit Sharing:

Total value of profit sharing will be about $213 million, including retirement contributions, payroll taxes and the previously announced $30 million from Boeing for financial damages due to the grounding of the 737 MAX fleet in 2019. This results in a payout percentage for all team members of approximately 1.4%* of an individual’s eligible earnings.

What are eligible earnings?

Most types of pay are considered eligible earnings, but there are special cases that aren’t included. This list isn’t all inclusive, but it does break down the most common types of pay.

Eligible:

    • Base pay
    • Overtime
    • Premium pay
    • Change of shift or shift swaps
    • Shift differentials
    • Vacation pay
    • Sick time
    • License premiums

Ineligible:

    • Commissions and incentive payments (such as AAdvantage Cash and Barclays Crew Cash)
    • Previous award payouts (such as those made for 2018 profit sharing)

Testing Requirements For new Employees into Basic Classification:

Qualifications Administration Manual (QAM) This manual is on Jetnet under procedure manuals

Please familiarize yourself with the QAM, you could be required to test within 24 hours of notification

A-25 Testing

Section  01.01.4 (B) in the QAM,   states upon a employees initial entry into a basic classification,  the Company WILL administer written and practical tests if the classification or Type Work (TW) requires.   Section 01.04.4 in the QAM states, Tests with effective dates on or after April 01,2014 falls under test failures which allows someone with a score between 90% and 60% be allowed to retest on the competencies that they may have failed.

If you have recently tested for avionics – No further testing is required.
