Maybe if we had wings, we could get a contract…

What about the people?

AMR has announced the “largest aircraft order in aviation history” — for 460 planes from Boeing and Airbus. We’re glad to see our company invest in the future, with more fuel-efficient planes that will reduce oil consumption and help meet the needs of our customers.

With this purchase, we can see that American has the capability to adapt to difficult economic conditions to make a deal that benefits both parties. If AMR executives are willing to put the same energy, creativity and priori- ty towards labor negotiations, we can also reach a deal that benefits all concerned.

They can’t fix themselves

Planes can’t fix themselves. Or load or unload themselves. Or provide the quality customer service that is the key to success in the airline industry. That takes people — especially, the hard-working men and women of the TWU, who sacrificed to keep American’s planes in the sky in 2003. Nearly nine years later, after four years of negotiations, the company still refuses to recognize our contribution to the airline. It’s time for a fair settlement.

Our families, our future

It’s good news that Boeing and Airbus have confidence in the future of our company and will extend financing for aircraft purchases. Now is the time for American Airlines to invest in fair contracts and help our members build a secure future for our families and communities.
