New 737 Heavy Check HOC 1&2 and Transfer Suspension letters from AA

New 737 Heavy Check HOC 1&2

From:
Mark Easton
Managing Director ,AO&M

Recent changes to the MD80 fleet plan have eliminated the need to restart the second heavy check line in August. The workload demand on the 757 fleet in HOC 5&6 will decrease due to the completion of LC/MC on dock 5C. While these events, in and of themselves, may sound “bad” it has provided us the ability to demonstrate our flexibility and work with the Long Range Planning Team to identify other opportunities to support the heavy maintenance needs of the New American. One immediate opportunity identified was on the 737 fleet which has a need for an additional Heavy Check line to be started on or about August 25th. In order to support this additional B737 heavy check work the decision was made to utilize our available, qualified and highly skilled labor force and perform this work in-house. To fund this work we are seeking volunteers from the following areas:

HOC 3&4 shop 222-6 – 18 AMTOs
HOC 3&4 shop 222-6 – 85 AMTs
HOC 5&6 shop 230-6 – 26 AMTs

Qualified AMT’s will be chosen from all shifts based on Occupational Seniority. If volunteers are not available, AMT’s will be assigned in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Employees being reassigned to HOC 1&2 will bid their shift and days off in this complex for the August Crew Change.
If interested, please personally hand an AOI with your Employee Number, Current Shop, Current Shift, Supervisor’s Phone Number, Occupational Seniority Date to your immediate supervisor no later than 1700 hours Thursday July 17th.

Suspension of the Transfer Memorandum

From:
Joss Voss

Recently discussions have been held between the Company and Local 514 regarding changes to workload in AO&M. More specifically adjustments to the MD80 fleet plan have eliminated the need to restart the second heavy check line in August. In addition, workload demand on the 757 fleet in HOC 5&6 will decrease due to the completion of LC/MC on dock 5C. These changes have allowed us to explore other maintenance opportunities. One opportunity identified, that we will be moving forward with, is the addition of a 737 Heavy Check to HOC 1&2.

In order to align our current headcount with the new workload demands across all Title I & V operations, the Company will suspended the provisions of Attachment 12.1, entitled “Transfers to Job Vacancies at TUL/AFW/DWH Maintenance Bases”. This suspension will remain in force and effect until August 16, 2014.

Should there be any adjustments or changes to this, we will discuss the situation with you in advance. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (918) 292-4267.

Sincerely,
Josh Voss
