Retirement of General Counsel David Rosen – TWU International

May 3, 2018
To All TWU International Officers and Staff:

I have received a heartfelt message from our General Counsel David Rosen announcing his retirement effective July 1, 2018.

Dave has been a vital member of the International President’s staff for 20 years, and he has been performing important legal work for us for 35 years. Before joining the staff, Dave was a member of the legal firm that had guided founding President Michael J. Quill in establishing TWU as a fighting democratic, industrial union.

Dave’s institutional knowledge, his expertise on the TWU Constitution and familiarity with all of our contracts across all divisions will be hard, if not impossible, to replace.

Dave’s many important contributions to us over the years are long-lasting and have made TWU a stronger International union.

But, every time one of our valued staff members leaves us to retirement, we are diminished as an organization. During the next two months, let us all find the time to wish Dave the best in his well-deserved retirement.

David, Thank you for all your service to the Transport Workers Union!

In Solidarity,

John Samuelsen
International President
