The Passing of Retired Brother Charles “Bud” Cameron

We are deeply saddened to share with you the passing of Brother Charles “Bud” Cameron on May 26th, 2022.

Bud retired in 2003 from Facilities Maintenance.

Obituary for Charles “Bud” Cameron

Services honoring the life of Charles Franklin Cameron will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1st at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family there to receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00.

Charles was born Monday, September 18, 1939, in Haskell, Oklahoma to Don Cameron and Edith Marie (Cooper) Cameron. Charles passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the age of 82.

Charles served in the United States Air Force after graduation from Haskell High School. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he soon began his career at American Airlines where he would retire after many years of service.

Charles was a loving father and Papa; he adored his family and loved spending time with them. He rarely missed watching his grandchildren and eventually his great-grandchildren participate in any event. He loved going to ballgames, antique shopping, finding a good deal at an estate sale, driving around town, being out at the farm, and telling stories of his childhood.

Charles is survived by: Joy Campbell and Barney of Porter, OK; Kim McKinzie and Larry of Broken Arrow, OK; Becky Starkey and Mark of Okmulgee, OK; Mark Cameron and Shasta of Broken Arrow, OK.

Grandchildren: Staci, Christa, Bryce, Carson, Sarah, Emily, Amanda, Blake, Samantha, and Madyson

Great-Grandchildren: Karson, Payton, Caden, Conner, Marli, Warner, Kori, Caroline, Ryder, Mykala, Hannah, Samantha, Caroline, Jackson, Olivia, Charlotte, Elijah, Esaya, Olivia, and Rowan.

Sisters-In-Law: Barbara Cameron, Myrt Purdom, Donna Purdom Brown, and Janelle Purdom Childers

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley, his parents Don and Edith Cameron, his brother Donald Wayne Cameron.
