Dear Local 514 Brothers and Sisters,
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform the membership of the passing of our retired brother and colleague, Clarence “Leroy” Smith, who passed away on October 10th, 2026.
Leroy began his career with us here at American Airlines in 1996 as a Junior Mechanic. In 2000, he transitioned to the role of Aviation Maintenance Technician, serving with dedication until his retirement in 2013. Over his 17 years with American Airlines, Leroy was a valued union brother and a respected member of our team.
Please keep the Smith family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
