The Passing of Retired Brother Earl Tillery

We are sad to announce that on February 2, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Earl DeWitt Tillery (Tulsa, Oklahoma), born in Vinemont, Alabama.

Earl had been a strong supporter of labor. Earl started With AA at TWU local 512 Midway Airport in Chicago on September 18, 1956. He participated here at Local 514 as Executive Board member,from 1983 to 1994, serving on the Insurance Committee and the COPE Committee. Faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Naples, Italy for two and a half years; and also contributed his time and service to many civic activities, such as the Citizens Advisory Committee for the City of Tulsa Charter Change and the Tulsa Airport Authority Board; and later served for two years as President of the TWU Retirees Association of Oklahoma. Earl received a Citation of Appreciation From Representative Mary Easley and Senator Kevin Easley.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Tillery and Flora Tillery (McEwen); and his brother Mack Tillery. He is survived by : his wife Jo; his daughter Ellen of Tulsa; his sister Sybil Wilson (Terry) of Goodlettsville, TN; his sister-in-law Carolyn Tillery of Cullman, AL; and his aunt Julia Holmes of Garden City, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 20th 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home – Southlawn Chapel (9350 E 51st St, Tulsa, OK 74145).
