The Passing of Retired Brother Herbert “Herb” R. Buboltz

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of our fellow union brother, Herbert “Herb” R.?Buboltz, who left us on March?26,?2026. Herb began his career with American Airlines in 1973and devoted more than three decades to keeping our fleet safe and ready. He retired in 2005 as Tech Crew Chief in Maintenance Training, where he mentored countless members and upheld the highest standards of workmanship.

Herb’s dedication to his work, his commitment to the union’s values, and his supportive spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him. His legacy lives on in the many professionals he trained and inspired.

Gone West.
Herb was a retired AA mechanic. He had had a good and personal fulfilling life. Herb had enjoyed his job, was a private pilot, an excellent airplane and car mechanic.
Born in Ripon, WI. He also enjoyed travelling, rock and roll music, and going to the EAA in Wisconsin. Also enjoying photography, Herb especially liked taking airshow pictures. He has left behind his loving, caring wife Elsie.
