It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the passing of retired Brother John Allison on June 29, 2024.
John started with TWA in 1966, and when American Airlines bought TWA John was part of Kansas City – MCI, TWU Local 530. John worked as Crew Chief, Avionics Maintenance Technician and retired in 2008.
John’s son, Richard Allison, Is an Aviation Maintenance Technician and a TWU Local 514 Member here in Tulsa.

John M. Allison was born in Centerville, Iowa on October 27, 1944. John passed away in Shawnee, Kansas on June 29, 2024.
John was one of three children from parents James and Evelyn Allison. John attended Durant Elementary and graduated from Durant High School in 1963. He joined the Navy in 1962 and was a Chief Warrant Officer W-4 upon retirement. John was involved in the Vietnam war and Desert Storm. In addition John served in the Navy Reserve which totaled to 28 years of service.
After retiring from the Navy, he worked as a Lead Mechanic for Trans World Airlines (TWA) for 36 years and for American Airlines for another 8 years.
John married Linda on March 30, 1968. Together they raised four children; Richard, Shane, Misty and Lance. John was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family. Being on the Lake of the Ozarks with family was always special. John enjoyed traveling in retirement.
John was predeceased by his parents, brother Gary and his in-laws Virgil and Anna Crews.
John is survived by his wife Linda, children, Richard Allison, Shane Allison (fiancée Lisa Dyer), Misty Allison and Lance Allison (Ally), grandchildren Blake, Amber, Rachel, Courtney, Trent, Tyler, Siena, Jacob, Hayden, Piper, Justin, Michael and Matthew. His sister Sally Wason (Wayne) and Sister-in-law Candice Burgess, niece Cami Burgess (Rocky Shepard), nephews Jimmy Wason (Juliana), Brett Burgess (Tiffany) and a father to Jason Lamping and Kevin Darden.
