We will no longer be taking any new orders for signs. We have several orders in process and will be continuing with them.
All that have volunteered to work in the sign shop have done so with the hopes of getting labor recognized within our government. As we have seen here in Oklahoma, the majority of our legislation believes that any labor organized or not, need only be pacified and not protected.
Since I have taken office I have been reviewing the business of Local 514. I have found many levels of our participation draining the memberships dues with little or no benefit. Some of our past practices have lost value and provide minimal assistance in our fight for labor’s rights. We can no longer operate with the motto of “That is the way we’ve always done it.”
I will continue to look for new ways to support labor in the state of Oklahoma.
To those members that have labored tirelessly in the sign shop, Thank You.
