As you have seen by now the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a law suit this morning in the District of Columbia to block the merger of American Airlines and US Airways.
The detailed restructuring business plan of the combined companies has provisions outlining this possibility which would move the merger to as late as the fourth quarter of this year.
