Dear Brothers and Sisters:
As my duties continue to evolve, I found it was becoming increasingly difficult to continue to serve in my dual role at TWU International and TWU Local 591. A few minutes ago, a letter was sent out to the Local 591 membership letting them know that I was resigning from my position as Local 591 President. My decision did not come easy; however, I believe now is the best time to do so.
I would also like to introduce and welcome Gary Schaible as the President of TWU Local 591. Gary has been my Vice President for the last 7 years and is more than capable of stepping in and continuing to move the Local 591 forward. As we move forward together, I would appreciate if everyone give Gary the same support given to me over the years. I know he is more than capable of doing the work in his new role.
I also want to thank everyone for continuing to give me the support, and constructive criticism, needed to improve the Air Division. Mike has set some expectations for me to reach over the next year within our Division, and my role will be to meet and exceed his expectations. Over the next few weeks, I will begin the process of moving forward and improving our internal and external communications, improve our ability to mobilize and act in support of each other, and to find the best ways to improve the relationship
between International, Local Leaders, and Members.
We must never forget that the sole reason we do this work is to improve the lives of the members we represent.
