Letter of Support to Lori Bassani National President, APFA from TWU International President John Samuelsen

Dear Lori,

The TWU stands fully behind the APFA as you enter into this critical round of contract negotiations.
As you know, the TWU also recently entered into Section 6 negotiations. We understand the pilots at the APA will also soon be in negotiations. The three of us working in close coordination will make each respective union stronger.

There is great power in the continuance of our unions working together. It is more important then ever that we who represent work groups at American Airlines remain steadfastly unified. There is tremendous strength and power in a continued collective approach.

As the TWU moves forward with our fightback to defend our membership and the safety of passengers against the scourge of maintenance offshoring, we stand with you and greatly appreciate your leadership and the support you’ve given us. Whether it be at your informational pickets and events, or any other action against AA, we have your back. The TWU’s team of strategic campaign organizers, our Air Division staff and our legal team are all at your disposal if the need arises.

The greatest asset we have in our collective fight against American Airlines is our solidarity. There are some who will try to divide us. That tactic plays right into the hands of the bosses and it will never work. Be reassured that the TWU stands with you every step of the way. We are far stronger together, and together we can and will win.

In Solidarity,

John Samuelsen
International President
