The Passing of Brother William “Dan” House

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Brother William Daniel House on February 23rd, 2025.

Dan started working with us at American Airlines in 1987 as an Aviation Maintenance Technician and served as a Crew Chief AMT from 2002 to 2009.

Vian, Oklahoma, formerly of Oologah, Oklahoma

Dan House, age 71, of Vian, Oklahoma, formerly of Oologah, Oklahoma, passed away on February 23, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by family. Born on November 28, 1953, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Dan was the son of Velma Lee (Rhodes) House and Joe Thomas House.

Dan lived a life filled with dedication and hard work, having served as an Aviation Maintenance Technician for American Airlines for an impressive 38 years. His skills were evident beyond the workplace; he was known as a fixer-upper and handyman with a talent for building and creating. Dan’s passion for life extended to many activities that brought him joy, including gardening, fishing, hunting, boating, and his love for Corvettes. Known for teaching his daughters to be independent, he cherished watching NASCAR with his son. Family bonds were strong for Dan, evidenced by his enjoyment of family gatherings where he tackled the grilling duties, particularly with steaks. He also relished his weekends spent enjoying scotch and cigars by the outdoor fireplace.

Dan was married to Debra (Owens) House on February 14, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Debra; five daughters: Danyelle Hayes and her husband Jeremy of Oologah, Mandy Puryear and her husband Justin Ivins of Okmulgee, Ashley House and her husband Joe Gibson of Manitou Springs, Stacci Canada of Oologah, and Candace Bonilla and her husband Raul of Tulsa. He is also survived by one son, William House, Jr. of Oologah, and an expanding family of 16 grandchildren, Sydney, Maddison, Logan, Riley, Ryder, Ryan, Caius, Makenzii, Kodi, Ameritte, Lucio, Zylea, Chloe, Bella, Silo, and Kingston; and seven great-grandchildren, Claire, Kohen, Estelle, Daniel, Daxton, Darius, and Luna.

Dan is survived by one sister, Wanda Anderson, and her husband, Jim, of Charleston, Arkansas, along with several other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Christina House; one grandson, Brett Hoover; three sisters, Ginny Blaylock, Oletta Walters, and Freda Thomas; and three brothers, James House, Ray House, and Prentice House.

A viewing will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Following this, a funeral service will be held at Liberty Assembly of God Church in Muldrow at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow at Upper Camp Creek Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers at the church will include Will, Justin, Joe, Raul, D.J., and Jeremy, while pallbearers at the cemetery will be Riley, Ryan, Ryder, Dakota, Cash, D.J., and Logan. 

Dan House will be remembered as a steadfast rock for his family and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
