President:
This week, I traveled to Dallas to meet with the Association’s local leaders to review what grievances would be presented at AA HDQ in the GRB(grievance review board). That meeting was Monday and then we met with the Company on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss those grievances. I did get a chance late Monday to sit down with Gary Schaible, Rollie Reaves, and Ken Coley of the IAM Union to discuss Crew Chief absent/replacement issues (we call it CC known outage).
On Thursday, VP Marla Johnson, TWU Attorney Steve Hickman, TWU Liability Insurance agent Emily, and I attended a settlement hearing. American Airlines and TWU Local 514 are being sued by a member. The member has alleged we did not represent them. The lawsuit is asking for a large sum of money. Marla and I made the decision that because we believe the Union did represent this individual to the fullest extent and that the allegations are not factual, we told the mediator we would not settle but would rather defend our position in court. This case could drag out for a year or two, but I believe in protecting our Union Reps and your money from frivolous lawsuits.
Jay Potter, George Albano, and I meet with Fidelity at their 21st and Lewis local office to have a video conference with their financial advisor, who gives insight on Estate Planning. Jay and George will use this opportunity to learn more about what resources are available to you at no charge.
I can be reached 24/7 at 918-636-6089. If you have any questions or would like to visit with me and any officer in your area please contact me.
Take care,
Dale Danker
Vice President:
Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins on March 9
I was with Joe Brown and Dale Danker at AA headquarters this week for the GRB. We have started a new process, which I think will better serve the union members. Per the contract we won’t have the decisions on the grievances brought for up to 14 days.
We still have a couple of new stewards who have yet to complete their paperwork. Please go to Union Hall to fill out the necessary information. The next steward meeting will be on March 10th. Please plan to attend one of the three meetings that day.

AERO:
I continue to meet with the AERO management to resolve old grievances. The rumors in that department seem to be settling down, so just continue to do good work.
BENEFITS:
We have had a few situations come with members trying to get prescriptions filled through CVS. If you encounter a situation that you can’t resolve, please give us a chance to help. Don’t give up.
VETERANS:
A few of the organizations that we are trying to support are:
Soldier’s Wish, this organization provides essential assistance by offering resources like adaptive living aids, recovery and education support, and home modifications.
Claremore Veterans Home is a 302-bed facility that provides 24 hour medical and nursing care. They are always in need of support of all kinds. We will be working with them to focus on their needs and your help is vital to our success.
We will be working with the Tulsa VMERG chapter for better representation when we post colors at the front gate during major holidays like Memorial, Independence, and Veterans Day. Please help where you can.
The Veteran’s day float is needing volunteers to help design and decorate. If you want to help, just call.
