President:
All,
Jay Potter and I traveled to Chicago this week to present the Dodgeball grievance in Mediation. We went prepared with the knowledge gained from interviewing Crew Chiefs in AO and some Crew Chiefs in the shop areas. The overwhelming statements from the Crew Chief’s is that they want to know who their crew is and what location they will be working.
I was very disappointed in the company’s participation in Mediation. It is overwhelmingly clear they want to control everything about the bid and they want generalized locations so they can manipulate the things in the contracts that they have buyers remorse over.
So we have another scheduled meeting in September to revisit this case but I’m at the point where I believe we need to just take every case to Arbitration and get a decision. I know some use the fact that we can’t get cases quickly to Arbitration as a political talking point but it’s just another BS mistruth (lie). I will continue to push the Association leaders, TWU International Reps and work with Gary Schiable and my IAM counterparts to bring the most important cases impacting our membership to arbitration.
Take care,
Dale Danker
