Working Grievances

HGR5

Thanks to all of you that we had an opportunity to speak with this week on the 9FF and questions regarding it. The T/W off pattern to remove is not even being considered until next year, these days were an ask by the union and is on hold by the company. Shop Steward positions will not change at this time. We do not anticipate any changes through the end of the year in regard to SS. Marla, along with the Executive Board Officer over the area determines the need. If you transfer over to HGR6 on the 9FF your DAT/VC will remain in place. Ed Sangricco said he will bust the ratio if needed, workers will not lose their DAT/VC days off they have chosen. Ed stated he is going to do everything he can to make sure as many workers that can be off on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve still happen. Keep in mind our revenue passengers will come first as needed. Please contact me with questions; 918-954-4709. You can call/text me on any shift-if I do not answer please leave me your name so I know it is not spam. I am attending a TWUWWC (TWU Working Women’s Committee) meeting next week. I will be out of town from Sunday to Wednesday, please call an Officer or SS as needed. Take the time to find your TWU contract online and read through one Article a week. Knowledge=Power.

WorkBrain

WorkBrain doesn’t seem to be holding up to its name. Be sure you are checking your WorkBrain every day for your correct work times and pay. Check your paycheck. There is a high turnover in ADMIN, and some important information could get incorrectly input. Be sure you check your MyTime for points. If there is a problem, set a time and take a shop steward to go see an LTA. Keep all documents/emails with the company on any time approved to be off. Keep track of DAT/VC time. If you are on FMLA, check your hours/time allotted for accuracy.

Did You Know:

Leadership is a busy job. You should know, as you all do it every day. Our strength in TWU membership begins with all of us that work on the floor, our ‘blue-collar’ union jobs that are the best in Oklahoma. The power, work integrity and trust we hold in each other is vital moving work forward. It’s not about popularity or “shaking hands & kissing babies”. This is about work being completed, meetings happening behind closed doors, open discussions and disagreements talked through in each workgroup as needed. The hard no’s and the exciting yes’s-it’s a roller coaster at times. It’s not about pointing fingers to blame one person or another if something didn’t go the way ‘I or we’ wanted as that could happen everyday at work; be ready for that, not surprised. Many times it’s a restart, ‘pick your battle’ kind of day. Get a hold of the Shop Steward in your area with questions. You don’t know who they are? Ask and find out….introduce yourself. I apologize if they have not had the time to come into the area to say Hello. Go to www.twu514.org; shop stewards on base on all shifts are listed with areas, days off, and phone numbers. Please contact me if you need a password to sign into TWU. I am grateful for TWU and IAM Shop Steward leaders on the floor; thank you to those who work hard in your position as a SS-it can feel like a thankless position. Contact the union with all concerns regarding shop stewards and needs.

TWU members: our union is YOU. It’s your involvement; it’s your voice that builds TWU to strengthen from the ground up or tear it down bit by bit by repeating ignorant rumors or blaming others. Those personalities must feel it is easier to throw dirt than get it on your own face. Ever watched a leader dodge blame while their team crumbles? Or witnessed someone transform an entire organization by simply owning their mistakes? Have you watched a strong leader speak the hard truth even though it’s a tough spotlight, they answer to explain regardless. The difference lies in one critical leadership quality that separates exceptional leaders from merely adequate ones: accountability.

Accountability in leadership means taking ownership of decisions and their outcomes, not just your actions. Doesn’t everyone want to be popular by networking all the ‘positive answers’-just leave those nasty negative ones for someone else, right? Who wants to be the one who has to deliver an unpopular answer? A strong leader is who. As one, you should strive to create an environment where expectations are clear and commitments honored. Unlike responsibility, which focuses on assigned tasks, accountability emphasizes results. When we model this ownership mentality, you build trust and educate on facts while inspiring others to do the same. The true power of accountable leadership emerges when it becomes part of our DNA. This is the goal of TWU-514 Officers and our Union membership for the next 80 years – leave the dirt where it belongs.

TRUNK or TREAT tomorrow (8/24/26) for TWU MEMBERS and their families only……5:30PM to 8:30PM

Video cameras are in operation 24/7 on the Base and at the gates
