Local 514’s Digest for the week of February 9, 2024

President:

Marla, Joe and I met this week with Ed Sangricco and his team to discuss Tulsa base issues. I asked if he would look at the upcoming AO schedule around the major holidays and upcoming summer months to see if the company could adjust the vacation ratio to something greater than the minimum. Any increase would help members move vacation weeks which allows others to request resulting vacancies. The requirement for posting vacation vacancies in your area can be found in article 23 in all the contract books.

We also discussed concerns about the company putting qualifications on overtime lists that prevent you from being proffered.  I have a Presidential grievance filed on this issue.

I’m available 24/7 at 918-636-6089

Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:

Buy your spouse flowers

Here’s a little experiment buy your spouse flowers, only…. Buy dead flowers…. no matter how your spouse responds, you get to say “I bought flowers for my spouse”.

In my eyes this is exactly what the company is doing, let me explain, we have a Security department… how would our security respond during an active shooter? Does our security department really screen incoming vehicles?

We have building cleaners…but how clean are your restrooms ?

We have a snow removal company that does AA’s parking lot… how clean was the parking lot during the last snow?

For safety reasons this last snow our  AA FMG began cleaning the parking lot, AFTER they finished inside the turnstiles, even though we have a company being paid to do the parking lot.

We have a 911 and all call paging system…. But it’s very probable you will need  to use your cell phone to call them.

This is exactly what most of the contractors AA hires are doing to your company with little or no oversight.

These are just a few examples that we as a company took for granted when we (AA FMG) did all of these jobs.

If you don’t like the services you are receiving don’t hesitate to call ext 2500 and request service, and if you happen to see any of our leaders, let them know that you don’t appreciate dead flowers.

As always feel free to contact me at anytime.
