Tracy Hardin:

Did you know that the origin of labor unions dates back to the 18th century and the industrial revolution in Europe. There was a huge surge of new workers into the workplace that needed representation.

In the United States history of unions, early workers and trade unions played an important role for independence.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, log onto www.unionplus.org for more information, support, and services for union members.

The Tulsa County Election Board is looking for pole workers during the election season. If you or someone you know is interested, give them a call at 918-596-5780. They will provide all the training, information, and this is a paying gig. So, if you would like to expand your civic duty, this may be the avenue for you.

Michael Quill Scholarship Application 2024

The union has been honoring our founder with these scholarships since 1969. Quill Scholarship awards have benefited hundreds of TWU families. Children of our members in transit, railroad and air transportation, utilities, public employment, space installations, and allied industries are among those who began their college educations with the help of the TWU’s signature scholarship.

Applications are now being accepted for the Michael J. Quill Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will offer fifteen (15) college-bound dependents of TWU members a scholarship worth $4800.00. This scholarship will be paid out, each year in the amount of $1200.00 to winners who continue to be eligible over their four (4) year college course.

The deadline for all applications is May 3, 2024; no applications postmarked after this date will be accepted.
