Future Leaders Organizing Committee

The FLOC Committee would like to welcome the new workers to AA and invite you to join us at our next committee meeting; if you are interested, please get in touch with me.

This week, the FLOC committee attended the international FLOC committee conference in Dallas.  it was a great learning experience for all union members who participated in this conference. On Tuesday, we opened by introducing the top 5 international leaders, including a speech by TWU International president John Samuelsen. The training on Tuesday covered different types of grievances, along with the understanding of “DFR” duty fair representation and our duties as union representatives. On Wednesday, we reviewed past grievances that were approved and denied to understand the ins and outs of what makes them successful. Our group performed a moc grievance performance acting out a real-life scenario where a union member got caught sleeping on the job and needed representation from a shop steward and the union against management. This was a great learning experience to get a complete overview of how the grievance process plays out from the beginning to the end. Overall, this training provided excellent knowledge for effectively and adequately filing a grievance.

Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:

I have recently been given the contractor list for the Tulsa base. I will look at it and post it so everyone knows who they are.

If you see equipment that is not in TMA, take a picture of the nomenclature and send it with an explanation to your tech crew chief so that it may be added to our recurring pm lists.

No matter how good or bad you consider your union leadership, we are nothing without you and could really use your help. Please consider volunteering for the many positions needed in the union and or in your shop specifically, safety auditors, chemical auditors, or even union reps.

  • Current headcount 316
  • Headcount on LOA 5

I apologize If it has been hard to get in touch with me recently, I have been on vacation last week out of the country.
