Local 514’s Digest for the week of May 31, 2024

President:

Marla and I met with Ed Sangricco and his team to discuss base issues and potential headcount movement for the September bid. He stated he would hold town hall meetings this summer ahead of the next bid to discuss it.

The annual smoke off event will be here in a couple of weeks and Ed informed me that several Senior American Airlines Executive officers will be in attendance. Please take that opportunity to visit with them about any issues in your area that you like or dislike. It’s always a good time to expose lower management if problems are not being addressed at that level.

This Saturday is family day. I would have liked to have had input on when it was going to be but the committee made the decisions on the date. I leave Saturday for an International IEC meeting in Chicago. Enjoy family day and I hope to see you at the Smoke off event on the base.

I can be reached anytime at 918-636-6089.

Stay safe,

Dale Danker

Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:

I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to the family day at Mohawk park this Saturday, it’s been a long time since we’ve all conversed outside the gates of AA, and for me it’s very much appreciated, for all those who have worked hard to bring this together and volunteered their time outside of work, thank you.

The reasons for unions at AA are crystal clear to me, without them I personally would’ve been long gone because of my actions to hold the company accountable, and we ARE in the best union by far.

Sometimes it seems I’m spinning my wheels and not getting anything accomplished, that is until I take a step back and look at the changes we together have helped to accomplish, for this I thank you all.

  • Budgeted headcount 312
  • Actual headcount 317
  • Headcount on LOA 6
  • Headcount on base 311
