Recording Secretary:
Members who fail DOT Drug Testing, be aware, and fail a second Drug Test will be permanently disqualified.
If you have an A&P License, your license will be permanently revoked, and you will no longer work for American Airlines or be in a DOT position.
As Union Officers, we get a lot of calls after a member has had a second positive. calls stating that the member is a good worker and can we, as a union, help?

This letter will serve as formal notification pursuant to AA’s Drug and Alcohol Policy and FAA regulations. FAA Regulation 14CFR Part 120 Subpart E, 120.111(e) – Permanent Disqualification from Service states:
“An employee who has verified positive drug test results on two drug tests required by this subpart of this chapter, and conducted after September 19, 1994, is permanently precluded from performing for an employer the safety-sensitive duties the employee performed prior to the second drug test.”
Due to the two (2) verified positive drug tests collected on 00/00/0000 and 00/00/0000, which were FAA mandated tests, you are hereby notified that you are permanently barred from performing DOT Safety Sensitive duties effective immediately.
Chairman of Maintenance:
This week, I attended the FLOC committee meeting in DC. We had training on how to identify people with possible EAP issues and training on transportation safety.
Some of this training covers flight attendants and bus drivers being assaulted. if you see something, say something.
Safety
- Injuries are up, please wear PPE when required.
- When lifting heavy items, Please use proper lifting techniques and, if necessary, get help.
- We are still in need of ERTs for the off shifts and weekends; if interested, please get in touch with Brent.anderson@aa.com.
- Hangars 5/6 is looking for volunteers for the safety team; please get in touch with brian.drenthe@.com
Construction area detours and allowable walkways.
- Please follow all signs and detour signs.
- Do not cross into restricted areas; this is for your safety.
Security Guards
- I have received complaints stating that the security Guards are walking around using their cell phones to video or take pictures. Please do not confront any security Guards. If there is an issue, please call a board member.

- If you have placed your name on a transfer list, please review and make sure you are current on your choice. 48 hours after the bid closes, the company will check to see if you qualify, and if so, you go.

HGR 5/6 Shift Betterments for 18 AMT and 6 CC’s
Family Day June 1st, 2024. Budgeted for $150,000, came in at $120,000
- 457 registered members with 2723 total headcount.
- 2000 checked in. 1250 attended the Tulsa Zoo.
- 45 volunteers including the E-Board
- 11 Vendors involved in the Event.
- Cooked and served 1500 hamburgers, 1200 hotdogs.
- 3000 snow cones, 1500 bags of chips, 1500 popcorn bags.
We Donated the remaining food left over on Sunday June 2nd to RC Hotspot @Shipman Animal Hospital by Will Rogers Downs. This group started the day after the tornado in Claremore and in 7 days with help of the community had served over 14000 meals before we donated the following to help them out.
- 500 Hamburgers, 800 hot dogs, 1600 buns, 1200 bags of chips, 800 popcorn bags, and numerous other items left over from Family Day.
