Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:
Among other things facilities is currently replacing the steam line to the test cells, this line is buried underground in a protected sleeve which makes it nearly impossible to find the leak, after searching for nearly a week our facilities tech crew chiefs have came up with a plan to go above ground with a new line and with the help of several crews including base utilities we are in the process of replacing it, thanks to all involved.
Lights out again. Wednesday night, we had yet another S&C switch fail. This time, it was caused by a bird crossing two phases. Unfortunately, both the bird and S&C switch perished in this dramatic encounter. Thanks to our facilities’ electricians, we were able to minimize the outage.
We have three openings this week: 2 GSE and one SOE.
- Budgeted headcount 316
- Current headcount 318
- Headcount on LOA 8
- Actual headcount 310

Grievances
I prepared several grievances for the June GRB. One grievance was settled during a pre-GRB meeting with Labor Relations. Due to scheduling conflicts with Admin and Management, there has been only one grievance meeting this month with Hgr’s 1, 2, & 3 management. I find this unacceptable and will continue to press management to improve. Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,Jul 1, 2025
Benefits
Here are some stats from the June benefits meeting:
401(k) Higher Catch-Up Limit: 63 TWU contributing members have participated, and 10 have already reached the $11,250.00 limit.
1223 pensions have been commenced year to date, with 412 being TWU members. Fidelity is at 99%, and payments are made within 45 days of receipt of paperwork.
There have been 1,080 deaths within the system, including 84 active employees.
Acrisure has sent out a blast so members may update salaries prior to Open Enrollment for proper maximum disability benefits calculation.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the volunteers who helped make our Family Day event a resounding success. Their invaluable participation is what makes these events possible.

If you get hurt on the job, don’t wait to file a report with your supervisor. This time period is crucial to your case. The longer you wait, the more scrutiny will be given to your situation. Also, when you go to your own doctor first, there will be more questions if you get injured on the job.
- First, have your supervisor file an injury report.
- You should be contacted by a company named Sedgwick for the next step, appointments, etc.
- Follow their recommendations
- In an Emergency Situation, seek medical attention immediately!! Call 911
