Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:

Lookie Here,

Kudos to our facility maintenance base utilities Guys, they completely rebuilt the south security gate that was damaged on Labor Day. This gate is the longest on base and is extremely heavy, our guys did an outstanding job that makes me proud to be a representative.

Another security breach on the Tulsa base 9/12/24. I don’t have enough information to fully comment at this time but what I do know is the last two security breaches, it was our team members that subdued the intruders until Law enforcement arrived, this time it was the guys from the Boiler room, to all of you that have stepped up to protect your fellow workers and your loyalty to our company, from the bottom of my heart I say thank you for your courage and determination.

  • Headcount on base 319
  • Headcount on LOA 11
  • Actual headcount 308
  • Budgeted headcount 316

As always feel free to contact me at anytime

Daron Morgan:

I attended the Shop Stewards Meetings on Monday September 9th, 2024.

Continue Covering the Grievance office daily.
Met with the CRO Leadership Team on Tuesday Sep 10th 2024. I was unable to get any grievances settled at this meeting, so I will be preparing those as well as many others for the upcoming October GRB.
Currently, I have approximately 180 total open grievances in my bucket. 56 of those are “Known
CC Outages”, and the other big group are over “qualifications”.

We did have a computer glitch in Workbrain for the CRC this week that did create an OT issue. I believe that I was able to resolve that issue on a verbal step of a grievance.

Don’t forget to sign up for the TWU Adult Party. We continue to have regular meetings on the planning for that event, as well as having joint meetings with the FLOC committee for the upcoming Trunk of Treat event on October 19th. These are 2 great events being brought to you by your TWU LOCAL 514 committees.

9-11 Remembrance 2024

On September 11, 2001, almost 3,000 people lost their lives during the attacks at the Twin Towers, Pentagon and aboard United Airlines Flight 93. At 8:46 a.m. EST, American Airlines Flight 11 (traveling from Boston to Los Angeles) hit the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City in what we now know as the 9/11 terror attacks. At 9:03 a.m. ET, United Airlines Flight 175 (traveling from Boston to Los Angeles) hit the south tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. At 9:37 a.m. ET, American Airlines Flight 77 (traveling from Dulles, Virginia, to Los Angeles) hit the Pentagon Building in Washington. And at 10:03 a.m. ET, United Airlines Flight 93 (traveling from Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco) crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

In remembrance the Tulsa Base posted flags on the fence along Mingo Road.

Tech Crew Chief Pete Sottnik, Pete is a Navy veteran

Several of the Local 514 veterans and volunteers removed the flags on the 911 anniversary.
