Met with TWU M&R/MLS/MCT/MTS Negotiation Committee.
Took calls from members off the floor.
Worked with 514 Officers on internal office issues.
I will travel to Ft Lauderdale next week for a TWU International meeting.
Vice President:
The Officers continue to work the grievances old and new. As of Monday, September 18th, we have 1538 open grievances.
The GRB last month was reasonably successful. We have one termination returning to work, and all the Holiday grievances on file were resolved.
The benefits committee attended a meeting in Charleston to review changes in both Company and Union policies.
Membership Meeting are Monday, September 25, 2023 at 7:15 am, 11:45 am, and 3:45 pm.
Chairman of Maintenance:
Work around the base
* Continue meeting with managers and directors in all areas.
* Addressing safety issues in all areas. There has been a recent spike in injuries; please use PPE where required.
* Cam construction continues. Please use the posted Detour.
Field trip
- When being proffered for a field trip, ask for a precise start time so you know when your field trip pay will start and what time you need to report to work.
FLOC Meeting
- We will host a trunk or treat at the union hall on October 21 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to hand out candy. Please get in touch with me if you’re interested in helping.

I attended the Base Businesses Review in Charlotte on Wednesday. The meeting was 3 hours, and there was a lot of good info on how we are performing as a company.

- I continue to work on grievances with management. We currently have 114 open.
- MLS headcount is 485. We have 17 on LOA
- The Entertainment & Welfare Committee had meetings this week to go over The Hard Rock Casino Night.

There has been a new director for the Civil, Human, and Women’s Rights Committee assigned to the AFL-CIO. Danielle Noel began in the position on September 18th. She came over from the press secretary position.

Don McCormick:
HGR 5/6
- Continued meeting with Hgr 5/6 management.
- Walking the floor and assisting the membership in safety and other issues.
- Attended several 32J meetings for attendance. Get FMLA if possible.
- 2nd 737-line started September 6th on Dock 5C.
- 787 and 777 OSV checks being brought into Hgr 6.
- Shift Betterment for 1 CC, 13 AMT’s, and 4 Avionics AMT’s
- Conducted 4 CC interviews for 1 opening.
Grievances
- Continue to work Pre-Contract and Post Contract Grievances.

Welfare and Entertainment
- November 18th – TWU Adult Party at the Hardrock. Registration now open. Go to the TWU514 website to register.
- Working on donations and planning for the Adult Party.
Tulsa State Fair
- Volunteers needed for working the Labor Council Booth for opening day Thursday September 28th and volunteers especially needed for the final day Sunday October 8th. Small volunteer sessions around 2 hours each. Contact George Albano or Don McCormick for info.

This week, I started going over grievances in my bucket. As I am reviewing them, I am contacting the stewards that wrote them for as much information as I can get, so I can start moving forward with them. - 6 of these aircraft are check aircraft (MBV or C11).
- The HMP vendors have 30 aircraft.
