Local 514’s Digest for the week of Nov 10, 2022

President:

I want to thank all Veterans for your service. The sacrifices that you and your family members made for you to serve our country is not understood until someone is in that situation. My daughter is currently serving a 5 year contract in the Navy. To those that served our country, Happy Veterans Day to you.

Dale Danker

Vice President:

We continue to work on grievances. We will have a joint meeting in November and December. Please try to make one. We have a lot of drives going on right now. The WWC has a sock drive, toy drive and a food drive. If you would like to participate please bring your items to the grievance office or Union Hall.

We have a few upcoming holidays, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Day and New Years Day. All of them will be observed off in most areas. Be sure to select how you would like to take them.

Block vacation picks are still planned to be online. Tentative dates to be able to view the program are November 17, 2022 and December 1, 2022 the live bid should start. Please watch your AA email for more information.

Town Halls on base will be November 17, 2022 at 5:15 am – 6:30 am, 7:00 am – 8:15 am, and 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm.

Be sure to thank a veteran. We have our freedom from their sacrifices.

Marla Johnson

Recording Secretary:

Here is the clarification for the FMLA/MLOA for less than 4 days.

FMLA – if the EE is eligible for FMLA (worked 1250 hours and been with the company for 12 months) and they are seen in the ER/UC for a condition that falls under the Serious Health Condition guidelines they can apply for FMLA with the documents they receive from the hospital/Urgent Care if less than 4 days.  This information needs to include the medical facts, dates, etc (info that is required on the HCPC form) – please note:  The common flu, viruses, and colds do not fall under Serious Health Condition. They would accrue a point for that absence.  If it is for Covid they can still provide their positive test result and get up to 5 days covered.

MLOA – per the company policy the leave must be greater than 3 days in order to qualify.

Remember when seeking Preventive Care for incentives be sure Doctors office classifies visit as a Preventive Care Visit.
