President:
Every week, I have conversations with International Rep. Rollie Reaves to discuss open issues that he is trying to help resolve for Tulsa and the system. He called me this Thursday to inform me that he and American Airlines attorney Johnathan Oliff met to strike for an Arbitrator for the “Dodgeball case.”The Dodgeball case involves a situation where the company requires more than one crew chief to pick and choose who is on their crew for any particular day. Although we do not have a specific date yet for the case, Rollie stated it likely could be in August of 2025 due to the fact there were previous cases slated before he was put in this role. Rollie informed me that the company was willing to sit down and discuss the case to explore a resolution. I will be out on the floor in the coming months to visit with crew chiefs and crews in all classifications to hear your ideas and opinions on the impact of how the company is pushing us with their interpretation of the contractual language.
Also, the retirement counselor, Mark Loeber’s contract was reviewed by the Executive Board, and a unanimous decision was made to terminate the contract. That contract was written 24 years ago to help make decisions concerning your American Airlines pension plan selections. That plan is frozen, and if you did not hire in At American before October 31, 2011, you are not vested in the plan and would not need his services. Please call the Local at 918-437-4300 if you have questions concerning Retirement or visit the Fidelity website on Jetnet.
Call me anytime, 24/7, if you have any questions. 918-636-6089
Take care
