Local 514’s Digest for the week of May 26, 2023

President:

It was nice to see everyone at the AMT Day celebration.  I would enjoy walking the floor and visiting with you in your work areas, but every day, my job is to work down the backlog of grievances.  On top of that job lately, I have had to deal with the open executive board position and work with the executive board on trying to get the cost of our elections under control.  Our local spends approximately five times the price of local 591. I applaud this board you have elected.  They are looking at several antiquated processes and are comparing them to best practices from other Locals. They are working hard for you.

Also, I have paused the election to allow time for an appeal to be heard by the International Appeals Committee.

Happy Memorial Day

Vice President:

I just want to say thank you to all our members. I hope you like the flashlight that was given out on AMT day.

If you have not received yours you can pick it up at the Union Hall from 7:00 am – 11:00 am and 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

As Memorial Day approaches, please remember our fallen soldiers who have given up everything to fight for our freedom. Enjoy your Holiday.

Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:

Do you wear red on Friday’s ?

I do, to show support to all of our military on foreign and domestic soil (as Tracy Hardin would say)

And to say thank you to All who have served both past and present.

Bathroom refresh is still going on, in my opinion the only issues we have are scheduling and supply issues, not Talent.

It looks like we may be getting visitors next week sometime, I will be inviting Bill Clark title 2 international rep. And Jay Sleeman International Safety Representative. To visit the Tulsa base hopefully we can make it happen, if not next week then soon, I will keep you updated.

As always feel free to contact me anytime.
