Union Office Water Damage
On July 10th 2022, a water main located to the east side of the union office burst. The city started the repair at about 3 pm Sunday, Jul 10, 2022.
The Office building , east side had taken on a few inches of water and was still evident Monday morning. The damage was extensive and we are in the process of removing all the contaminated materials.
We may not be able to open the doors for business for several weeks as the work being done will take some time to complete. For now, the office building will remain closed for business.
As usual, if you need assistance, please contact your local Union Steward. Please do not plan on coming to the union office with an issue as there will not be any one there to help.

We will be counting the ballots Monday July 18th in the Union Hall.
Ballot tally will begin at approximately 9am, then we will count until we are finished!
We have additional challenges during this election. The Union Office flooding has placed most of the office furniture in the Union Hall while the restoration from water damage is in process.
We will have plenty of seats for those that wish to view the counting live.

TWU Joint President’s Council meetings
The first ever TWU Joint President’s Council meeting with all TWU Divisions.
International TWU President addressed the body on several topics but the one that rang loudest to me was his opinion of the politicians on both sides of the aisle. The current economy is stripping us of every pay raise we get. If you are going to vote this November his suggestion was educate yourself on the candidates and vote for the one you thought would benefit labor members no matter what political affiliation.
Union,
Dale Danker
President
One of the major points brought up at the Joint meeting this week in San Diego is the Call to Action on our TWU International website. Www.twu.org
Once it opens, scroll down to the Call to Action Bills – there are three! We need our members to sign all of these. Please take the time to read about each of these vital safety issues and basic worker rights to uphold….. with your voice. The title to look for is:
We’re Fighting for You:
1) CALL TO ACTION:: ASSAULT WON’T FLY
2) CALL TO ACTION: SUPPORT THE GLOBAL AIRCRAFT SAFETY IMPROVEMENT ACT
3) CALL TO ACTION: SUPPORT THE CABIN AIR SAFETY ACT
TWU shows LESS than 1% in our industry signing on to support these very important issues. You, I and our families fly on our airplanes. Get involved, take the time to sign these Call to Actions today. Let’s change that 1% to a goal at Local 514 to 75%! It’s time for TWU boots on the ground!
Thank you!
In Solidarity,
Linda Dill
