Effective September 26th 2014 the 777 B-Check will relocate from DFW to MIA. Both MIA and DFW will coordinate the realignment of their respective stations to adjust/accommodate the move. There are 75 mechanics, and 4 Crew Chiefs associated with the 777 B-Check here in DFW. There will be no involuntary furloughs in DFW as a result of the 777 B-Check leaving DFW. Approximately 73 position will be bid in MIA. There are more than 125 mechanics across the system on the AA mechanic transfer list that want to go to MIA.
The following areas will be created and/or beefed up in DFW beginning Saturday September 27th.
- We will add a seven day narrow body Bus CFP check 3rd shift hangar 2
- We will add headcount to cover the narrow body Bus check aircraft currently being worked in hangar two, and currently funded from RON headcount
- We will add additional headcount to work AOS aircraft on both first and second shift
- We will create an Envoy crew on both first and second shift to work the first class section of our wide body fleet
- We will add headcount to both first and second shift D-Terminal to better accommodate the wide body turns, and scheduled workload
- Final authorized DFW Line headcount will be reached through attrition
