Transfer Lists:

As part of the JCBA implementation, Effective 06/25/2021, all TUL transfer lists will be reset and all names will be removed.

Going forward, team members will now have the ability to place their name on a transfer list for a specific Bid Area within TUL and TULE. If you are interested in transferring departments within TUL, please go to [transfer.aa.com]transfer.aa.com and place your name on the lists that you are interested in.

Here are a few reminders to remember:

    •     All TUL and TULE transfer lists will be cleared as stated above
    •     If you are interested in a specific bid area you can add your name back to that specific one
    •     If your name is on a transfer list and not removed you will have to transfer per the CBA

If you have any additional questions regarding transfer lists, please feel free to reach out to the Tulsa Administration Center via Tulsa.Movement@aa.com

Important Pension Reminder:

If you are married and have a Pension (frozen) with American Airlines, did you fill out a Enhanced QPSA Election Form? This form will make sure your pension goes to your spouse if you were to die. Unfortunately, your pension can not be left to your kids. It is to a Spouse while employed. If you are single….you do not have an option on this.

Go to JetNet Home Page….click on Team Member Services Tab and scroll down to the ‘Leaving American’ link. In the block marked; Pension Service Center you will click on Read more. This takes you to the Pension page. In the upper left corner you will see three tabs: Home – Pension – Chat. Click on the Pension tab. Under the Beneficiary title (in black) you will click on ‘Enhanced QPSA Election Form.

Print out this form and fill it out. Send in to the address listed at the bottom of the page to American Airlines. If you do not have a copy of your Marriage License listed with AA, it could be a good idea to send a copy in with this. If you do not have this form filled out and on file, if something happens to you (you have to be married), your Pension will go back to American Airlines. You have to be married for 1 year or more to be eligible. In this same area of the Pension Service Center, you can also estimate your Pension.

Time & Attendance:

American did notify the workforce they could be calling in workers to meet with the member on a case by case basis. The company has always tracked your company sick time. TWU has the opinion as this; we do not support a member being disciplined from April back to January of this year, as we were still under COVID restrictions. If this has happened please contact the union or your shop steward so we can file a Grievance. We are not aware of any discipline within that time frame, as of right now. The company has the right per the AA company sick time policy, to call a union member in and speak with you on sick time use, time left….etc. TWU would like to see our members choose to take a Shop Steward with you to the time & attendance meetings. This is in case something were to turn into a disciplinary action. If you have any questions on this please contact the TWU. Advisory’s are maintained on file for 12 months.

Grievances:

Remember the steps when working a Grievance you have filed with your Steward. As everyone should know, those steps have changed with the new Contract in place. A Grievance is the Union Representatives responsibility to see through to the end.

I have been going back for some months now and working Grievances for Stores from some years ago (under the old contract) up to recent ones. Some of the problems I have seen: there were no 2nd Steps completed on some and in other cases no 1st Step completed, nothing turned in at all on a few. These type Grievances will be withdrawn at some point for lack of evidence.

At one time the company was mailing the Grievances to the Grievants home for the MLS (blue copies). If you did not bring the Grievance back into work and give it to a Union Officer or your Shop Steward, it may have not gotten filed or even completed. If you have any of the OLD blue copies and the grievance had not been settled, please contact one of your Stewards or bring them to the Hall or Grievance Office so they can be logged to see if that Grievance is still valid or needs to be withdrawn for being out of time limits.

My group – the MLS – have done a great job of getting the Grievances written up with evidence; part numbers, dates, locations, names…etc. The more details (data, pictures, emails..etc) you have in your grievance, the better. If you have any questions please contact a Steward for more information.

Remember, a Grievance can be written on a company process that has not been followed correctly and NOT just for a contractual violation. You always want to file a Grievance if you receive a disciplinary 1st or 2nd Step advisory letter as well, that will enable us to review and argue for it to be pulled if behavior has improved before the 12 months expires.
