TWU Local 514 President

Dale Danker

All,
I was on a conference call today with all TWU local AA presidents to discuss equity with International TWU Rep. Gary Peterson.  It was reported to the presidents that American Airlines will help facilitate the administration of the distribution.  Simply put American Airlines has our bank information, tax status, social numbers and any other pertinent information on who gets the money.  It was asked if the International would be putting out a letter to discuss what was discussed and the answer was no the Local Presidents can disseminate the information and inform their membership.  I’m concerned that social media may have a lot of twisted up facts before midnight tonight but here are the few facts that were given.
  • AA will help
  • AA will pay the employer portion of the FICA tax – NOT EMPLOYEE PORTION
  • AA’s decision to help was not tied to contract negotiations
  • Still no answer from IRS on capital gains tax
  • If no answer from IRS on capital gains tax the funds may be split into 2 payments, 1st payment with known tax implications.
  • Target date of payout June 1, 2018

I will be in DC next week for more negotiations.

Union,

Dale Danker
President, TWU Local 514
