Background check when you transfer?
I have been getting a lot of questions on this. I will share the answer I got on this question:
From HR:
All moves must be reviewed by compliance to see if anything is needed. They may not need anything but it does have to be reviewed and the box checked. There used to be some site they had to go to and make sure their personal information was correct. I’m not sure what they have to do now specifically, but it is still tied in to make sure we are in compliance with the various government entities and Company policies. Keep in mind if you transfer to a whole new Station you will also do fingerprints.
Face Mask Policy
This comes from Jetnet.
Please wear your face coverings at all times. There are few exceptions in the company policy as to when they are not required.
The exceptions:
-
- When eating or drinking.
- If you can maintain 6 feet of social distance outdoors.
- If you are exposed to extreme heat while working and performing your assigned duties (though every effort should be made to maintain 6 feet of social distance when you are not wearing a face covering).
- When sitting at your desk and 6 feet of distance can be maintained. Face coverings must be worn in all other parts of office buildings.
- When in the flight deck per the flight deck safety exception.
Essential function of your job: Under the present circumstances, wearing a face covering is now an essential function of everyone’s job at American. If you’re unable to wear the face covering due to a medical condition, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) team will review options with you. However, you may be unable to work until this is no longer an essential function of your job. If you have any questions, reach out to the ADA team at ADA.Team@aa.com. Learn more about face coverings being an essential function.

We have been following the new CBA and the process that came with it since November.
Union Stewards:
When you submit a grievance:
-
- Fill out the Fact Sheet with as much detail as possible, as soon as possible
- Get is signed by the grievant.
- Print it and hand it to the supervisor.
We do not have a full electronic process as of this notice. When the Supervisor returns a denied grievance back to you within 5 days, You need to sign the first step appeal and turn it into the Managing Director within 10 days from the first step answer. If the 2nd step is denied, you need to get the answers back to the Union Office so we can get it scheduled for the Grievance Review Board.
