What a Top Labor Leader for Travel Learned From the Pandemic

The pandemic has taken a toll on the frontline workers at the Transport Workers Union, but action and compassion go a long way. Industry employers need to take note and make adjustments as their frontline workers return.

The off-cycle check process

Whenever you receive a paycheck on a day other than your regularly scheduled pay date, it’s considered an off-cycle check. These types of checks should be rare. Typically, any timekeeping changes that result in pay due to a team member are simply added to the next scheduled paycheck. Off-cycle check requests should be limited to emergency paycheck correction issues and require two levels of manager approval.

Currently, only leaders with direct reports can request an off-cycle check. Team members and timekeepers should work with their line manager or leader, who can submit the request on the Money & Attendance space on Jetnet. All approvers listed in the off-cycle check request must be managers or leaders or the payroll system will not process the form.
