Local 514 Digest for the Week of March13, 2020

Tentative Agreement:

By now you should have seen the Tentative Agreement that we will be voting on. Please take time and review them.

The following are the latest Summaries:

This is what was passed on to us by the Association on the11th.

The Vote:

The Executive Board has been putting together all the requirements that were placed upon us to get the Vote completed on March 26th.

Voting will take place on March 26th, 2020 from 6am to 8pm, If you are in line at 8pm, we will continue to allow you to vote.

We plan on having the Tulsa Speedway available for all to vote at. There will be 3 Mobile Mini’s 40’ Offices placed at the South East corner of the paved parking area. We will also staff the Union Hall on Pine.

The Votes will be counted at the Union Hall, after the last ballot has been cast.

Live Video Review of the T/A’s:

President Dale Danker will be having live interactive sessions on YouTube covering the articles of the current Tentative Agreement. Plans are in the works for other officers to cover their respective groups and committees that have new language in the tentative agreements.

NOTE: For you to have the ability to ask questions you will need to have a YouTube account. You do not need an account if you would just like to watch.

We will be posting the schedule as soon as we get the details ironed out.

Special Jetwire, March 12th 2020:

Here in an excerpt from that article.

Accelerating retirement of our Boeing 757 and 767 fleet

We will accelerate the retirement of our remaining Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft. Doing so removes older, less fuel-efficient aircraft from our fleet sooner than originally planned and avoids unnecessary maintenance and fuel costs. The 767 fleet will be grounded in May 2020, and the remaining 757 aircraft will retire between May 2020 and post-summer 2021 at the latest.

Shop Stewards:

Take some time and review Article 33 – Grievance Procedure

There are several language changes in this article, Time Limits and Monetary Penalties. We will need to be ready to implement and understand these changes.

As always I would rather not have a grievance filed and settle all issues before they become a grievance. If you have any questions or concerns on the T/A’d Grievance article, please send them to me. If the tentative agreement gets ratified, we will go over them in detail at the next shop stewards meeting.

Thanks,

Kendal Anderson
Vice President
