Open Payments

Open Payments is a national transparency program that collects and publishes information about financial relationships between the healthcare industry (i.e. drug and device companies) and providers (i.e. physicians and teaching hospitals). These relationships may involve payments to providers for things such as research, meals, travel, gifts, or speaking fees. One of the ways that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides data to the public is through this search tool, which allows the public to search for physicians and teaching hospitals receiving payments, as well as companies that have made payments.

The purpose of the program is to provide the public with a more transparent healthcare system. All information available on the Open Payments database is open to personal interpretation and if there are questions about the data, healthcare consumers should speak directly to the healthcare provider for a better understanding. More information about the program can be found on the CMS Open Payments website.

Teachers Urge Governor Stitt to Veto HB1775

As Oklahomans, we know the importance of educating to not repeat the mistakes of the past. We need your help in reminding our legislators that censoring conversations on diversity moves us in the wrong direction. Last week, the House of Representatives advanced HB1775, a bill that keeps our children and college students from seeing the…

Lost Time and Attendance

As this pandemic has been receding these past few months we are starting to return to a “more normal” environment and so are the LTA’s. They are starting to council members on their occurrences per our current CBA and AA policies.

Please be aware of this.

As always, if you are sick, please take the proper actions to get yourself better as soon as possible and be courteous of others as to not spread any illness.

This weekend is a special one around my house, Mothers day is Sunday, May 9th. We are not getting any younger, so take a minute to let your mom know how much you love her.

Be Safe  and I look forward to seeing many of you at the first joint membership meeting of 2021, Tuesday May 18th.

Vice President
