BENEFITS ENROLLMENT

Dental

The TWU option will not be offered in 2021. You’ll have two options: Plus and Basic.

The Plus option offers a higher level of coverage, and the Basic option offers a lower level of coverage, so you can pick the one that best fits your needs. If you’re currently enrolled in dental coverage, and you do not re-enroll, you will automatically be enrolled in the Plus option, covering the same dependents, if applicable.

Disability coverage

Effective Jan. 1, 2021, any optional short-term disability coverage you have through American will end and will be replaced by an option provided by the Association. All members on the TWU Hartford plan will remain on plan no change . All members on Metlife STD will need to enroll in Continental American Insurance Company Plan . 

You will automatically be enrolled in American’s long-term disability coverage. You will not need to provide proof of good health. If you do not want this coverage, you must waive it during Annual Enrollment . LTD through Hartford will end 12/31/2020 .

Once you are on the AMERICAN AIRLINES PayPal site, you should see two boxes requiring information:
Enter Description:  please enter your Employee #  
Item price: $ amount you are paying/amount due 

This was news to us, so we thought we should pass it on.

Grievances:

Back in August I had mentioned that the new CBA Implementation of Article 33, Grievances had not happened. As this has been discussed with the International Grievance Committee, it looks as though another goal is being set to start the new process in November 2020. I have not been made aware of a certain date as of yet. I will let you know when I have more details.

Shop Stewards meeting:

 I plan on having our regular scheduled shop steward meetings for the month of October. Monday October 12, 2020

We are still challenged with the growing number of COVID -19 cases to keep a balance of safety and meeting obligations for this membership. There has been discussions on membership meetings, details on how they will happen are still in discussions. Being that the Shop Stewards are a much smaller number, we plan on making them possible. As always, please wear PPE as your safety is number one.
